This ship’s cargo of Earth’s best and brightest - frozen in cryosleep for the better part of a decade now - is our only hope of finding a solution. And that’s why I’m here: Thanks to mismanagement and greed, thousands of lives are at stake, possibly all that’s left of mankind if you believe the rumors.
The gunmen in front work for The Board, the bureaucratic, money-grubbing, and disastrously incompetent band of corporate CEOs leading the Halcyon colony. The Hope’s central computer is almost within reach, I note as I approach a set of large metal doors, easily the most heavily guarded I’ve encountered on the colony spaceship Hope.
